Abstract: The article presents the results of research on the development and application of a disinfectant based on silver nanoparticles and lactic acid in poultry farming. The relevance of the study is due to the growing need for effective and safe disinfectants, which ensure high veterinary and sanitary conditions in modern animal husbandry. The antimicrobial properties of silver nanoparticles are enhanced by the synergistic action with lactic acid, which allows for a broad spectrum of activity against pathogenic microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant strains. The work describes the mechanism of action of the proposed composition, including the destruction of cell membranes of bacteria and the disruption of their vital functions. The technology of obtaining silver nanoparticles is briefly outlined, as well as the optimal concentrations of the components in the disinfectant. Particular attention is paid to the results of testing the preparation in poultry farms, where a significant reduction in microbial contamination of surfaces, equipment, and air in poultry houses is observed. The safety of the agent for animals and the environment is also confirmed. The obtained data testify to the effectiveness of the developed disinfectant for use in veterinary practice, particularly, in the poultry industry. It has the potential to become an alternative to traditional chemical disinfectants, contributing to the improvement of biosafety in farms and the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases.
