PROCESSING INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

Relevance of research. Industry is the most important structural element of the economic system of Ukraine. It accounts for at least a third of the fixed assets of the national economy and about 30% of the working population. At the same time, Ukraine has a critically small share of the processing industry compared to neighboring countries. In the previous decades, due to the mistakes of economic policy, Ukraine had accumulated a huge lag in economic development. A strategic mistake was the weakening of the processing industry due to ignoring its development at the level of economic policy [1, 3]. Purpose and methodology of research. The goal of our research was to analyze the processing industry of our state as an important area of national agribusiness. When performing the work, generally accepted research methods were used. Research results and their discussion. The lack of a state policy in Ukraine regarding the comprehensive use of raw materials, which are priority for the sustainable functioning of the economic system, not only limits the potential for the development of innovative enterprises, but also leads to the unlimited export of valuable resources from the state. In general, it can be said that the processing industry is the basis of the viability and competitiveness of the national economy of Ukraine [2, 4].
